Fallout Day 2026: All the Major Announcements from Bethesda’s Fan Event
Fallout Day 2026 stretched across five full days, opening on Monday with a day devoted to the community. Bethesda Softworks filled the week with giveaways, creator spotlights, and game announcements. The message to fans was clear: plenty more is on the way in the days, weeks, and months ahead. The celebration of Bethesda’s beloved post-apocalyptic franchise wrapped up on Friday, after a week of reveals and festivities.
We’re still waiting on further word about the newly announced Fallout game projects. Even so, fans of Fallout 4, Fallout 76, and Fallout Shelter had plenty to dig into this week. Here are the biggest announcements from Fallout Day 2026.
Pets take over Fallout titles
Several Fallout games are about to get a wave of furry (and scaly) companions. Deathclaws are fearsome enough, but how about a baby one? Like it or not, baby Deathclaws are on their way to Fallout Shelter later this year as adoptable pets.
The World Pets update is also headed to Fallout 76 as the game’s 72nd free update. Pets will no longer be limited to your campground. From Dec. 1, players can bring dogs, cats, Radhogs, and Deathclaws along on their adventures across the wasteland. Every companion has the same attack stat, but each species offers its own buffs to help on the road.
Dogs have a keen sense of smell, so they can sniff out medical supplies in the middle of a fight. Cats, Robopaw Steel cats included, will hand over better bait, which means a more reliable catch when you go fishing. Radhogs skip the truffle hunting and track down radioactive material instead. Deathclaws are ideal for clearing out infestations, since they grant an extra legendary weapon.
The more time players spend with their pets, the more those pets can grow. Leveling them up unlocks species-specific perks, including a higher carrying capacity, new buffs, and additional customization options.
New Fallout 4 experiences
Fallout 4 has found fresh life through a new batch of Verified Creations, some of them built with help from Bethesda Game Studios. Community creators keep bringing new ideas to the table, and their work keeps the player base engaged. Throughout Fallout Day, Bethesda put several creations in the spotlight, including:
- FEVer Dreams from Kinggath Creations (available now) is billed as “a free escape room-style dungeon that inundates players with hallucinations and flashbacks, including conversations with their spouse.” The add-on features Fallout 4 voice actors Courtenay Taylor and Brian T. Delaney.
- Command Override from Hobgoblin Studios (available now) “allows players to see through a robot’s eyes and pilot it remotely. It includes a new robot hacking ability, a Robco headquarters dungeon, and, of course, a threat to annihilate.”
- Fathomless from Zone Zero Creations (arriving in 2027) is described as “a cosmic horror expansion set deep within the Atlantic Ocean. Following the path of an ambitious pre-war expedition, the sole survivor descends to a mysterious deep-sea crater.”
Fallout 76 Skyline Valley update

Skyline Valley in Fallout 76 has been given a visual overhaul, with improvements to the region’s lighting, terrain, and weather. The update also introduces bounty hunting. To get started, players head to the trading post and talk to Marshall Kane, who pays them to take down specific factions.
Bethesda also revealed a milestone: Fallout 76 has now been played by more than 25 million people.
Fallout Shelter: The Experiment release date announced
Prime Video is launching its own Fallout-flavored competition series, inspired by Fallout Shelter, the free-to-play game in which players build and run a vault full of dwellers.
Prime Video and Bethesda have teamed up with Kilter Films and Studio Lambert, the production company behind reality competitions like Squid Game: The Challenge and The Traitors, to bring the series to life. Fallout Shelter: The Experiment arrives on Prime Video on Jan. 13, 2027.
New and returning Fallout partnerships
Outside the games themselves, Bethesda Softworks is joining forces with a range of companies and organizations on the following promotions:
- The third annual Fallout Night with the Texas Stars takes place Oct. 24, and attendees can pick up a collectible Fallout bobblehead.
- Bethesda is broadening its partnership with the National Atomic Testing Museum in Las Vegas for the World of Fallout exhibit, which “brings together real-world atomic history and the Fallout universe through an immersive collection of props, costumes, and memorabilia from the games and Prime Video series.” Two new galleries will double the exhibit’s footprint, adding interactive installations, museum artifacts, and interpretive displays.
- The Fallout Cafe returns to Tower Records in Tokyo for a second year, serving Fallout-themed food and offering exclusive merchandise.
- Bethesda and Jones Soda, the makers of several Nuka-Cola flavors, are launching their next collaboration: Project T.W.I.S.T. (Taste-worthiness Initiative for Shelter Transition). Fans get to choose the flavor of Nuka Twist, “whose flavor has not yet been established in game content.” Voting runs Oct. 21-31 on the Jones Soda website.
Last but not least, Bethesda confirmed that Fallout Day 2027 will be held in Washington, DC. Fans can begin planning their trip to mark Fallout’s 30th anniversary alongside fellow players, with more details to follow.
