The era of having enough time to grab a meal while waiting to load into a raid may finally be coming to an end.
Battlestate Games has officially deployed update 1.0.2.5 for Escape from Tarkov. This latest patch focuses on critical balance adjustments alongside a suite of substantial technical refinements.
A major priority for the developers in this release is streamlining the gameplay experience, specifically targeting the reduction of downtime during the deployment process.
Key highlights and features of the update include:
- Revised server-side logic to accelerate match creation and decrease the time players spend transitioning into active raids;
- Overhauled post-raid sequence and stat reporting, resulting in a significantly faster return to the main menu once a session ends;
- Optimization of the game client’s initial startup time and overall menu responsiveness;
- Added a persistent departure timer for the “Zubr” vehicle during the climactic phase of the Terminal location;
- Upgraded DLSS to version 4.5, introducing compatibility with the latest performance and quality presets.
Beyond technical fixes, the update introduces a massive rebalancing of weapon attachments, including muzzle devices, magazines, foregrips, and stocks:
For instance, specialized magazines that are the exclusive option for certain firearms—such as belt-fed boxes for machine guns—now benefit from much more lenient penalties to ergonomics, as well as improved loading and checking speeds.
