After a 16-year hiatus, singer-songwriter Eric Hutchinson is making a triumphant return to Australia. The American musician has officially confirmed a three-date East Coast theater tour this November, marking his first-ever run of headline shows in the country.

The highly anticipated tour kicks off on Nov. 19 at Brisbane’s Lefty’s Music Hall, followed by a performance at Melbourne’s Northcote Social Club on Nov. 20, and concluding at Sydney’s The Lansdowne on Nov. 21.

Hutchinson’s connection to the Australian audience is unique; he initially captured hearts through sync placement, most notably when his breakout single “Rock & Roll” was featured on the popular drama Packed to the Rafters. The song became a massive success, reaching No. 1 and achieving platinum status in 2009. While he previously graced Australian stages as a supporting act for Kelly Clarkson and Jason Mraz, he never followed up with a solo tour until now.

“I honestly don’t have a good reason for why I stayed away so long, other than the sheer distance from my home in New York City,” Hutchinson shared in an official statement. He noted that the timing has finally aligned, prompted by years of persistent requests from his Australian fanbase.

Reflecting on his career, the success of “Rock & Roll” mirrored his trajectory in the U.S., where it earned him his first gold record. His debut album, Sounds Like This, famously climbed the charts after an influential endorsement from Perez Hilton, eventually hitting No. 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. Over the years, Hutchinson has successfully transitioned from radio-chart success to a prolific touring artist with a dedicated global following.

This upcoming tour celebrates his 2026 album, Repeating Myself, a record that signals a stylistic homecoming to the soulful, piano-anchored pop that defined his early success. Attendees can expect a setlist blending these fresh tracks with beloved classics such as “OK, It’s Alright With Me,” “A Little More,” and his signature anthem, “Rock & Roll.”

The tour will feature support from Marshall Hamburger, the talented winner of the 2025 season of Australian Idol.
