The highly anticipated Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition is officially heading to the Nintendo Switch 2 on August 28, 2026. This port brings FromSoftware’s 2022 masterpiece—a title that secured numerous Game of the Year accolades—to the portable console. Originally slated for a release last year, the project faced a delay in October 2025 to allow for essential performance optimizations, which the development team has now evidently polished to completion.

This comprehensive release includes the base version of Elden Ring alongside its expansive 2024 DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree. Players can also look forward to fresh customization options for both their characters and their spectral steed, Torrent.

Good news for fans on other platforms: these new customization features aren’t exclusive to the Switch 2. FromSoftware has confirmed that “The Tarnished Pack” DLC will arrive on all other platforms simultaneously on August 28. At this time, it remains unconfirmed whether this content pack will be released as a free update or a paid expansion for existing players on PC and consoles.
