CDPR Releases First Patch for The Witcher 3 Remaster to Align Console Version with PC
Players raised numerous complaints about the updated version of the game, and those reviews have been heard.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released on PC and consoles at the end of September. Shortly afterward, players began complaining on forums and in Steam reviews about various technical issues. Some of these problems, such as turning Geralt black and texture glitches, could be solved with a simple driver update.
However, these are not the only issues found in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt remaster. CD Projekt RED has now released the first patch, version 5.00b, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, alongside a fix for Xbox Play Anywhere on PC.
The current patch notes include only three items, as the developers fixed the lighting and improved the console versions:
- Fixed a number of lighting issues that made indoor areas look too dark.
- Made a number of other changes to align the console versions with the PC version of the game.
- Fixed a bug that made DLSS unavailable in Xbox Play Anywhere on PC.

CD Projekt RED confirmed that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt remaster will receive a separate hotfix for PC in the future:
We continue to investigate issues reported via our technical support portal. Thank you for sending us details and logs. We are preparing a PC hotfix that should resolve the save game issue.
