Nightreign: The Forsaken Hollows — Scholar Guide

Comment Views: 31

The Forsaken Hollows is the first major expansion for Elden Ring Nightreign. It launched on December 4, 2025 and adds two playable Nightfarers, Scholar and Undertaker, alongside two new third-day bosses, a new Shifting Earth condition and additional encounters and equipment.

Who the Scholar is

Bandai Namco presents Scholar as an academic from the School of Hierodas whose search for knowledge is tied to a disease that accelerates his aging. His highest attributes are Magic and Arcane, and his kit is built around status effects, information and support rather than straightforward melee damage.

His default weapon is a special thrusting sword suited to quick attacks and feints. The character’s passive, Bagcraft, expands how he uses consumable items. Analyse lets him study enemies and allies through a monocle, while Communion turns the information he has gathered into an effect that can influence the wider party.

How Scholar changes a team

Scholar rewards observation and coordination. Analysing targets creates information that can expose opportunities for allies, and his item-focused passive makes preparation matter more than it does for a conventional front-line fighter. The official character guide describes him as strong in magical knowledge but physically frail, so positioning and cooperation are central to the role.

What else the DLC includes

Undertaker provides the second new Nightfarer, while the expansion broadens the end-of-expedition challenge with new bosses and a Shifting Earth environment. The base game is required. Platform stores should be checked for the edition, regional price and language support because those details can differ by system and territory.
