DOOM Composer Discusses Conditions for His Return
Mick Gordon is open to returning to compose music for DOOM, provided that his conflict with id Software and Marty Stratton is resolved.
The Australian composer became famous for his soundtracks to DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal. Speaking at PAX Australia, he admitted that he does not rule out returning to the franchise despite the scandalous end to his collaboration with the studio.
A lot of things would have to line up in a certain way for that to happen. If it ever all lines up, then sure. I would do it without hesitation. I had a whole list of ideas for where I wanted to take DOOM next. And I would definitely like to explore those someday.
The composer also recalled his conflict with Marty Stratton, accusing him of withholding half of his payment, acting behind his back, and exhibiting toxic behavior.

Gordon is currently working on the cyberpunk shooter Defect and contributed to the music for Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2. Next year, he will perform at the RADAR festival with an orchestra and band, playing tracks from DOOM and DOOM Eternal.
