Physical GTA 6 Editions Becoming Difficult to Purchase as Rockstar Warned
Preorders for GTA VI sold out at select US retailers one month before launch, referring to the physical edition containing a game download code instead of a disc.
As reported by RockstarIntel, GTA VI for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S was no longer available to order on Amazon in the US. A similar situation occurred at select Target stores, particularly in major cities including Los Angeles and New York. Availability varies by region, and some of the issues may stem from errors in product listings.
Rockstar previously warned about the limited supply of these editions, stating on its official website that the offer is valid while supplies last. It remains unknown whether retailers will receive new stock.

Despite the lack of a disc, buyers receive a physical collectible item, and the price is sometimes lower than the digital version. For example, Amazon UK offered the game for 65 pounds, which was 5 pounds cheaper than many other stores.
So far, these reports affect specific US retail chains. GTA VI is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026.
