On Wednesday, June 3, DJ AG transformed Billboard’s THE STAGE at SXSW London into a vibrant sonic landscape, bringing his signature eclectic flair to the heart of the U.K. festival.
The London-based maestro delivered a high-energy set that seamlessly blended a diverse spectrum of sounds—from garage and gritty hip-hop to R&B and infectious pop melodies.
Known by his real name, Ashley Gordon, AG has garnered a fervent following through his spontaneous “guerilla” style DJ sets and high-profile collaborations. His live performances, which are frequently broadcast across his expanding digital platforms, have previously featured heavyweights such as Will Smith, Akon, Skepta, and Ciara.
The showcase, held at Ely’s Yard in Shoreditch, highlighted a stellar lineup of emerging talent. The performance featured a surprise appearance by American artist Cameron McCloud—fresh off his NPR Tiny Desk Contest victory as part of the group Cure for Paranoia—alongside captivating sets from the Australian phenom Tikara and the soulful London-based vocalist Iyamah.
The atmosphere remained electric as the U.S. band Infinity Song made a guest appearance ahead of their own performance at the nearby Shoreditch Town Hall. Adding to the jubilant energy, the House Gospel Choir—widely recognized for their recent show-stopping collaboration with Harry Styles at the 2026 BRIT Awards—delivered a powerful, uplifting performance.
Now in its second year, SXSW London continues to solidify its reputation as a vital nexus for music, film, technology, and global culture, hosting an extensive series of panels and live screenings.
THE STAGE remains a cornerstone of the SXSW experience. While the Austin, Texas edition recently featured headliners like Don Toliver and Junior H, the London iteration continues to gain momentum, following the success of Tems’ sold-out 2025 performance at the Troxy.
The 2026 London program also showcases a diverse array of homegrown and international acts, including Rachel Chinouriri, Tiwa Savage, Shame, and ODUMODUBLVCK.
