Dispatch developer praises Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 — “No game has ever made me cry so quickly”
Following Clair Obscur: Expedition 33’s win for Best Narrative at the 2025 Golden Joystick Awards, creative director Guillaume Broch recommended: “Play Dispatch — it’s absolutely brilliant.” The Dispatch developers responded to the endorsement.
Dispatch narrative designer Polly Ragouimov observed:
Taking the time during an acceptance speech to spotlight another game is deeply valuable, particularly in this category.
Creative director Dennis Lenart added:
There exists a distinct camaraderie among developers who value storytelling in games.
Both emphasized that Clair Obscur’s story is powerful even without spoilers: Ragouimov described the opening as “harsh,” while Lenart called the narrative “utterly astounding.”
Dispatch and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 have been recognised among the best games of 2025. Sandfall Interactive is already developing a new project, and AdHoc is creating a game set in the Critical Role universe.
