Disney Releases WandaVision Episodes Free on YouTube Ahead of VisionQuest

WandaVision brought the Marvel Cinematic Universe to Disney Plus for the first time in 2021. The series is the first in a trilogy of related shows, with Agatha All Along releasing in 2024 and VisionQuest closing the story out this month. Ahead of the premiere of VisionQuest on Disney Plus, Disney and Marvel are making the first three episodes of WandaVision available to watch for free on YouTube.

WandaVision caught up with Wanda Maximoff, also known as the Scarlet Witch and played by Elizabeth Olsen, in the aftermath of Avengers: Endgame. She lives a quaint life in the suburbs with Vision, played by Paul Bettany, though something fishy is clearly going on. The last time viewers saw Vision, he died at the hands of Thanos, played by Josh Brolin, in Avengers: Infinity War, but he is alive and well on the show. WandaVision explores the grief of Wanda through a series of episodes stylized after sitcoms from different decades.

It remains unclear if Disney plans to keep these episodes up on YouTube indefinitely or if the company will pull them once VisionQuest gets rolling. Either way, the release provides a good opportunity to refresh your memory regarding the activities of Wanda and Vision or start watching the show for the first time. Viewers who want to watch the rest of the show can find the full nine-episode season on Disney Plus, which recently became more expensive after another price hike.

VisionQuest premieres Oct. 14

VisionQuest is up next for the MCU. The series follows the resurrected Vision from WandaVision as he tries to sort out his identity alongside other artificial intelligence characters like Ultron, played by James Spader, and Friday, played by Orla Brady.

As shown in the trailers for the series, artificial intelligences like Ultron appear with human appearances. Series showrunner Terry Matalas told Polygon that this choice stems not from budget constraints, but from a desire to see actors like Spader emote and perform actions that a CGI robot cannot accomplish. “You’ll get plenty of robot action in the show. The show is very much inspired by that last scene in Age of Ultron between the two of them. But watching Spader and Bettany chew up the scenery was something I saw in my head from the very beginning,” Matalas said.

VisionQuest will stream exclusively on Disney Plus with a two-episode premiere on Oct. 14.
