Director of the New ‘Planet of the Apes’ Film Revealed

Matt Shakman, the filmmaker behind the superhero series WandaVision and the Fantastic Four reboot, is set to helm the latest installment in the Planet of the Apes franchise. The script will be penned by Josh Friedman, who previously collaborated with Shakman on the reimagining of Foundation.
While specific plot details remain under wraps, reports indicate that Shakman and Friedman are developing a completely standalone project, independent of the events depicted in Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.
Planet of the Apes is an iconic science fiction saga inspired by Pierre Boulle’s 1963 novel. The original story portrays a dystopian future where sentient primates have risen to dominate a society of primitive, feral humans.
