While Dimension 20‘s Gladlands campaign reached its finale in February, Dropout enthusiasts won’t have to wait long for their next tabletop fix. A mysterious new teaser released this Wednesday offers tantalizing clues about the actual play series’ next venture into the unknown.

The preview, titled “Welcome to Purpee,” features a montage of serene nature shots and idyllic family moments. If viewed on mute, the footage appears entirely wholesome; however, the narration paints a far more sinister picture. The voiceover alludes to a forest where “all them kids went missing last spring” and strictly cautions residents against venturing out after sunset. This atmospheric shift signals a sharp pivot from the hopeful themes of Gladlands, leaning instead into the surreal, unsettling vibes of Twin Peaks or Welcome to Night Vale.

In a final touch of absurdity, the teaser reveals that Purpee’s mayor is a dog—though the narrator dryly notes that “most politicians” share similar traits.

Although the trailer stopped short of confirming a cast or an official premiere date, internet sleuths on Reddit believe the secret has already leaked. During a recent Dropout Superfan Q&A session, CEO Sam Reich reportedly let slip that the next “Intrepid Heroes” campaign would be set in a location named Purpee.

The Intrepid Heroes represent the foundational cast that helped launch Dimension 20 into a cultural phenomenon: Emily Axford, Ally Beardsley, Brian Murphy, Zac Oyama, Siobhan Thompson, and Lou Wilson. Led by the ever-inventive Brennan Lee Mulligan as Game Master, this ensemble has previously starred in fan-favorite sagas such as Fantasy High and The Unsleeping City.

As the community awaits further details, viewers can revisit the extensive Dimension 20 catalog on the Dropout platform. For those who prefer a curated experience, the streamer’s 24/7 linear channel is currently broadcasting episodes of the high-octane Never Stop Blowing Up.
