Destiny and Call of Duty publishers are “keenly conscious” of battle royale’s recognition

Activision are “keenly aware” of how others publishers are benefiting from releasing battle royale titles, in response to funding agency Oppenheimer.

According to Dow Jones Newswires (by way of VG247), Oppenheimer acquired this quote from Activision throughout a current assembly with Activision’s monetary and chief investor-relations director. 

“The investment firm says Activision is keenly aware of how other game publishers have recently benefited from releasing titles in the popular battle royale genre,” Dow Jones Newswires studies. 

Oppenheimer went on to elucidate to the publication that “management reminded investors that the company is a faster follower,” suggesting Activision could possibly be trying to enter the battle royale race. 

Just final week, Activision introduced Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will release this October. It could possibly be that we see the sport launch with a battle royale mode.
