Destiny 2’s new raid consists of an Easter egg from Halo 2

The Last Wish raid included with Destiny 2’s new Forsaken enlargement has a secret throwback to Bungie’s Halo days: if you already know the correct sample, you may activate a modifier from Halo 2 referred to as Grunt Birthday Party, which causes confetti to erupt from the heads of enemies killed with headshots.

A redditor named cadamson87 posted directions for activating Grunt Birthday Party Friday on r/DestinyTheSport. It’s not too concerned, and the payoff is definitely value it – significantly if you happen to’ve gotten annoyed with the brand new raid’s powerful issue.

Here’s learn how to activate Grunt Birthday Party in The Last Wish raid. First, run by the preliminary platforming part of The Last Wish. Rather than heading into the primary encounter room, hold going by the platforming space till you discover a room with water on the ground. Jump round the correct aspect of this room to a ledge.

You can proceed on from this ledge to a room that has a wall bearing a grid of 20 discs that every bear a logo. If you shoot the discs, the symbols on them will change.

cadamson87 says to breed this sample on the grid:
Then, step onto the plate on the heart of the room, and also you’ll have activated Grunt Birthday Party. Here’s a video of the modifier in motion, courtesy of YouTuber Röyk Sopp:

I haven’t been capable of take a look at this myself (the truth is, I haven’t had time to complete the Forsaken marketing campaign but), but when it really works prefer it does within the Halo games, the impression on gameplay might be minimal. Instead, it’s only a little bit of enjoyable – and a nod to Bungie’s personal historical past of area shooters – that long-time followers will respect.
