Deadzone: Rogue may have initially flown under the radar for many, but it became an instant favorite once we finally dove in following its Switch 2 debut, eventually earning a stellar 9/10 review. Now, much sooner than anticipated, developer Prophecy Games has officially unveiled the successor to this high-octane roguelite shooter: Deadzone Rogue 2.

In this upcoming installment, players step into the boots of Talon 13-10, navigating a desolate, ruined Earth. While the core loop will feel familiar to veterans—clearing areas, dynamically crafting your loadout, and mowing down waves of adversaries—the sequel promises significant refinements. Beyond expanding your progression with an array of fresh abilities, weaponry, and unique run modifiers, Prophecy Games is introducing entirely new biomes, complex map layouts, and formidable enemies and bosses to challenge your skills. Perhaps most exciting is the addition of drop-in co-op, allowing up to three players to tackle the chaos together.

While details remain scarce, we are eager to see how Prophecy Games builds upon the already formidable foundation of the original. With a pre-release demo slated for June, we hopefully won’t have to wait long to get our hands on it. In the meantime, catch up on why we were so captivated by the first game by reading our full review of Deadzone: Rogue.
