Marvel Studios has pulled back the curtain on a gripping new trailer for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, providing a landmark first look at Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones within the MCU. The footage also highlights a mysterious new arrival played by horror icon and Scream star Matthew Lillard.
The preview begins with a poignant moment as Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) recalls a dance shared with Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), only for the memory to be violently interrupted by the harsh realities of Hell’s Kitchen. Roughly thirty seconds in, the atmosphere shifts with the arrival of Jessica Jones, who finds a weary Murdock recuperating in a church pew.
“I hope you can walk, because I’m not carrying you,” Jones remarks with her trademark dry wit. Her formidable strength is put on full display shortly after, as she is seen dismantling a heavily armored officer using a massive metal door as a makeshift weapon.
Viewers are also treated to their first glimpse of Matthew Lillard as “Mr. Charles,” a sophisticated newcomer whose connection to the formidable Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) remains shrouded in mystery. According to Lillard, his character is an outsider to the city’s established hierarchy and notably lacks a superhero costume. The actor joked that fans shouldn’t expect to see him in “any lycra of any kind,” keeping his role grounded in the series’ gritty urban drama.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is scheduled to debut on Disney Plus on March 26.
