Danny Boyle’s “Tabloid,” which premiered as the opening film at this year’s Venice Film Festival, is set for a Russian theatrical release on December 10. The film will be distributed locally by Atmosfera Kino and Amediateka.

The narrative centers on media mogul Rupert Murdoch as he acquires a struggling British newspaper and enlists ambitious journalist Larry Lamb to transform it into a commercially lucrative tabloid. Their new strategy relies heavily on sensationalist headlines, scandals, gossip, and content designed to maximize readership. However, as the publication gains momentum, the protagonists find themselves ensnared in the very system they built, where the distinction between legitimate journalism and the exploitation of personal lives grows increasingly blurred.

The film features starring performances by Jack O’Connell, Guy Pearce, and Claire Foy. It is helmed by Academy Award, Golden Globe, and BAFTA winner Danny Boyle, celebrated for his acclaimed work on “Slumdog Millionaire,” “Trainspotting,” and “28 Years Later.”
