The latest chapter in the iconic “Predator” saga has officially made its debut for home audiences.

Starting January 6, Dan Trachtenberg’s “Predator: Badlands” became available across various digital storefronts and streaming services.

This film marks the director’s third contribution to the expanded Predator universe. The narrative centers on a young Yautja named Dec (portrayed by Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi), who is desperate to prove his worth as a legendary warrior. His journey takes him to one of the galaxy’s most treacherous environments, where he faces the constant threat of becoming prey to the local flora and fauna. During his trial, Dec crosses paths with Tia (Elle Fanning), a synthetic operative belonging to the Weyland-Yutani Corporation. Together, they join forces to hunt down the most lethal creature in existence.

“Predator: Badlands” premiered on November 7, 2025. Despite initial concerns regarding its PG-13 rating, the film resonated well with both critics and the general public. On Rotten Tomatoes, it maintains a strong 86% critical approval rating—slightly trailing behind “Prey” (94%) and “The Predator: Slayer of Slayers” (95%). However, it has claimed the top spot among fans, earning a franchise-high 95% audience score.

Nevertheless, despite the warm reception, the film reportedly struggled to find its footing at the box office. With an estimated production budget of $105 million and global earnings reaching $184.2 million, it has yet to reach a break-even point. The project’s ultimate financial success now rests on its performance in the digital market and the upcoming physical media release scheduled for February 17.
