Crunchyroll Debunks Rumors About Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2 Release Date

Although online chatter pegged the two planned follow-ups to the anime sensation Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle for 2027 and 2029, Crunchyroll CEO Rahul Purini says there are no confirmed release dates yet.

In a Hollywood Reporter interview about Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1’s record-setting North American run, Purini explained that the studio and producers still need to finalize scheduling:

Well, we’ve announced that it will be a trilogy of movies, but our partners at Aniplex and Ufotable haven’t decided on dates yet. But look, there’s definitely urgency for all of us to bring more Demon Slayer to fans as soon as we can — because we know the urgency is there among the fanbase.

Aniplex is responsible for production and distribution, while Ufotable handles animation. Sony distributes the films in the U.S., and Crunchyroll manages the franchise’s anime operations — all parties are heavily invested, but they have not aligned on dates. That could reflect a strategic decision by Aniplex to pick the most advantageous moment to release the next entries.

Since 2021, Demon Slayer has delivered at least one major new installment each year. While films and TV seasons follow different production rhythms, that cadence has led some to expect Part 2 as early as 2026. Still, if a sequel were only a year away, an official date would likely already be public. Until Aniplex, Ufotable and their partners announce dates for Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Parts 2 and 3, any specific premiere years remain speculative.
