Critical Role Campaign 4 Trailer Hints at a World in Ruins

Critical Role has published the official trailer for Campaign 4, posing a central question: what becomes of a realm when its gods are gone?

The studio has been steadily releasing hints about the upcoming season, and the newest drop unveils the full ensemble — a striking, 13-person adventuring party whose members range from familiar faces to fresh additions. Unlike the previous campaigns set in Exandria (Vox Machina, The Mighty Nein, and Bells Hells), this story unfolds in the fractured world of Aramán.

The trailer paints Aramán as a land still healing from the upheaval left by dead deities and a recent rebellion. It sets up a mystery around Thjazi Fang: once celebrated by some and reviled by others, his looming execution draws together people from across his life to investigate the truth. In a world where divine guidance has vanished, these disparate characters will be forced to reckon with who — if anyone — will seize the mantle of power.

Marked for execution, Thjazi Fang becomes the catalyst that brings unrelated figures into the same orbit. As they travel a world splintered by the aftermath of the gods’ fall and the echoes of revolt, alliances will form, loyalties will be tested, and the question of who will rise to fill the gods’ void hangs over every choice.

The core group includes Critical Role founders Matthew Mercer, Laura Bailey, Taliesin Jaffe, Ashley Johnson, Liam O’Brien, Marisha Ray, Sam Riegel, and Travis Willingham, joined by newcomers Luis Carazo, Robbie Daymond, Aabria Iyengar, Whitney Moore, and Alex Ward. This season will be led by storyteller and Game Master Brennan Lee Mulligan.

Campaign 4 will use a rotating-tables approach with a West Marches–inspired feel: play will be divided among three distinct tables — the Soldiers, the Seekers, and the Schemers —each with its own role to play in the larger narrative. The first episode is scheduled to premiere on Oct. 2. Subscribers on Beacon.tv will have immediate access, and Critical Role will stream live on both YouTube and Twitch. VODs are expected to be posted for all viewers the following Monday.
