Creator of The Exit 8 Announces New Horror “Pale Dots”
Following the success of The Exit 8 and its sequel Platform 8, Japanese indie developer Kotake Create has revealed a new project — Pale Dots.
The game was previously known by the working title Strange Shadow and was originally planned for a 2025 release, but its launch has now been postponed indefinitely.
Kotake Create said it will update the Steam page shortly and announce a new release date later. The developer apologized to fans, explaining the delay is necessary to further refine the project. According to the studio, the screenshots and trailer currently on the Pale Dots page represent an older build, but it’s already confirmed to be a third-person 3D horror set in space.
The protagonist is an astronaut who has crash‑landed on an unfamiliar planet. He must hide from enormous creatures and search for a way home. Gameplay focuses on a range of actions designed to help the player survive and escape the hostile world.
The creator promised to publish new materials and videos soon. A short clip is available on X at this link.
Pale Dots is being developed for PC and will be released on Steam.
