“Coyote vs. Acme” to be released in Russia
Distributor Karo Premier has announced that the animated feature Coyote vs. Acme is set to hit Russian theaters on September 10.
This marks the first Looney Tunes cinematic release in the country in several years, following 2021’s Space Jam: A New Legacy. The film follows the iconic Wile E. Coyote as he files a lawsuit against ACME Corporation after their unreliable gadgets consistently fail him in his pursuit of the Road Runner. He teams up with Kevin, a down-on-his-luck attorney, but the legal battle quickly descends into chaotic hilarity.
The cast features Will Forte, Lana Condor, and John Cena. The film is helmed by director Dave Green (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows), with a screenplay penned by James Gunn (Superman) and Academy Award nominee Samy Burch (May December).
Originally completed in 2022 by Warner Bros., the film was famously shelved due to studio tax write-off strategies before being acquired by Ketchup Entertainment. A localized poster for the film has also been unveiled.
