Core Keeper is receiving a major update titled “Void and Tension,” scheduled for release on January 28, 2026. The game will also launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 that same day. A new trailer confirms both the update and the port to the new console.

The headline addition is the Fractured Threshold biome — a mechanical region inhabited by inorganic lifeforms and guardian robots. Players will discover new resources, weapons, tools, and crafting materials.

The biome introduces a new boss: the colossal robot SIPSIR, which attacks with devastating energy beams.

Developers are adding an advanced Automation Station: players will be able to assemble mechanical components, build farming robo-arms, and deploy new generators, traps, and sensors.

New weaponry will include miniguns, mortars, grenades, and a flamethrower. The update also adds decorative items, armor sets, accessories, and a new companion minion.

Dungeons will gain a Void sub-biome featuring altered variants of familiar enemies and a hazardous “Void Hydra.”

The patch also brings echo maps, six new statues, achievements, and items that can be dyed.
