Control Resonant: All Fault Locations and Traversal Abilities

Comment Views: 28

In Control Resonant, Faults serve as surreal gateways into abstract dimensions, bringing you ever closer to unraveling the mystery behind your sister Jesse’s disappearance.

Conquering these anomalies forms the core objective of the “Search for Jesse” campaign. Seeking them out is vital because completing them rewards you with essential traversal abilities. These powers—ranging from wall-running to rooftop slingshots—drastically streamline your navigation and make open-world exploration seamless.

Below is a comprehensive guide detailing every Fault location in Control Resonant and the unique movement mechanics they unlock.

Latest Update (Sept. 25): This guide has been fully refreshed to include the precise coordinates of every Fault in the game.

Fault and Traversal Ability Locations in Control Resonant

Scattered across the surreal expanses of New York City, Faults can be notoriously elusive. Keep a sharp eye out for spectral apparitions of Jesse during your travels; spotting one is a dead giveaway that a gateway is nearby. Whenever you encounter these visions—especially if you love uncovering hidden secrets—make investigating them your absolute priority. Overcoming these challenges grants you game-changing movement powers, which are mandatory for bypassing vertical roadways and translucent orbs.

Here is every Fault discovered so far, along with the corresponding abilities they unlock.

Downtown — Prologue Fault

Your journey begins with the unmissable Fault encountered during the prologue. Entering this dimensional tear is a mandatory story requirement to acquire your foundational movement kit:

  • Double-Jump: Grants an additional mid-air leap to clear wider gaps.
  • Elevate: Sustain the jump button while airborne to gently hover upward.
  • Rush: Hold sprint to surge forward at high velocity. Executing this while performing a sprint-jump allows for rapid mid-air propulsion.

West Incursion Zone — The Incursion Fault

The Incursion Fault rests deep at the bottom of the crater inside the Parking Garage, situated within the West Incursion Zone. To gain access, slip through the rear entrance of the nearby laundromat and retrieve the security key from the suspended corpse. Ascend to the upper level, then brave the descent through the massive structural breach.

Clearing this trial unlocks Shift, enabling you to traverse vertical asphalt and scale inverted architecture with ease.

Evacuation Zone — The Subway Fault

Nestled within the Railyard Street Station at the northeastern edge of the Evacuation Zone lies the Subway Fault. Prepare to evade rogue commuter trains on your approach before successfully reaching the anomaly’s threshold.

Conquering the Subway Fault grants you Reach, allowing you to catapult yourself directly toward the glowing, translucent orbs anchoring perimeter walls and rooftops.

The Underpass Fault

You will find the Underpass Fault tucked away at the terminus of a subterranean tunnel situated at the base of Tubes Island, located in the northwest corner of the Underpass district. Approach the island from its northern flank and squeeze through the fissure carved into the pillar’s side. Follow the winding corridor to its absolute end to discover the gateway.

While this particular Fault does not yield any new traversal abilities, successfully completing it rewards you with profound narrative revelations regarding your character’s backstory.

The Oldest House Fault

The final Fault lies deep within the confines of the Oldest House, manifesting inside the Main Test Chamber during the “A House in Distress” campaign mission. Because it is directly tied to main story progression, it is completely impossible to miss.

Much like the Underpass variant, clearing this final threshold focuses purely on story advancement rather than granting additional movement mechanics.
