Modders have upgraded the Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun engine and prepared fresh content.

The fan project Dawn of the Tiberium Age Staff recently received a major update featuring new content. Players are invited to experience a new story campaign called “Shadow Exodus” for the Brotherhood of Nod faction, as well as try out a variety of multiplayer maps.

The project runs on an upgraded version of the Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun engine. For example, instead of the outdated DirectDraw, players are encouraged to use SDL, which “should finally solve compatibility issues with modern systems.”

Both multiplayer maps and the multiplayer mode itself received updates. For instance, players can now load saved games from the options menu (ESC menu), which comes in handy during cooperative missions if something goes wrong. A bug that could lead to corrupted save files was also fixed.

The Dawn of the Tiberium Age Staff modification for Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun is available for free on ModDB. Work on the project continues as enthusiasts release new patches with improvements and fixes.
