The 2026 FIFA World Cup reached its crescendo with the live debut of “We Dance,” a brand-new anthem composed by Coldplay. Serving as the grand finale of an 11-minute musical spectacle during the Spain vs. Argentina match, the performance anchored a star-studded lineup that included appearances by Madonna, BTS, Justin Bieber, and a collaborative set from Shakira and Burna Boy.

The atmosphere at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford was electric as the halftime show drew to a close, featuring a massive, diverse ensemble of artists. Chris Martin, who spearheaded the curation of this inaugural World Cup halftime production, delivered an uplifting performance of the band’s latest track, “We Dance,” accompanied by the young voices of the PS22 Chorus. Officially billed as the FIFA World Cup 2026 Topps Final Halftime Show, the production involved a cast of over 350 performers. The event stands as a collaborative achievement between FIFA and Global Citizen, produced in partnership with Live Nation and Done + Dusted. Beyond the entertainment value, the show highlights a dedicated mission to expand educational and athletic opportunities for children via the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which has already successfully raised more than $60 million for global youth education initiatives.
