Christina Aguilera, Will Smith, The Roots, and Jill Scott to Perform at Concert Celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary

Philadelphia is gearing up for a monumental celebration this summer. To mark America’s 250th anniversary, the “One Philly: Unity Concert for America” will take over the Benjamin Franklin Parkway on July 4, featuring a star-studded lineup headlined by Christina Aguilera, Will Smith, The Roots, and Jill Scott.

The highly anticipated event is completely free and open to the public. Hosted by the sharp-witted Wanda Sykes, the six-hour spectacle promises an unforgettable showcase of talent and national pride.

“This Fourth of July concert represents a historic homecoming for some of our city’s most iconic voices,” Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle L. Parker shared in a recent statement. “By joining forces with production visionary Scott Mirkin, the unparalleled musical heritage of The Roots, and the expertise of Live Nation Urban, we are curating an experience that captures both the soul of Philadelphia and the collective spirit of our nation on a global stage. There is truly no better place to be than Philly this July 4th.”

The impressive roster of performers continues with appearances from DJ Jazzy Jeff, Seal, State Property, Kathy Sledge, and Infinity Song, with rumors of surprise guest cameos circulating throughout the evening. The production is spearheaded by executive producers Questlove, Scott Mirkin, and Shawn Gee.

Reflecting on the magnitude of the event, Scott Mirkin remarked, “Having spent years producing major live events worldwide, this moment feels unique. Crafting a celebration for America’s 250th birthday in the very city where the nation’s story began is a profound honor. We are dedicated to delivering a production that resonates globally while remaining deeply connected to Philadelphia’s distinct identity.”

The festivities are scheduled to commence at 5:00 p.m. ET, with gates opening at 3:00 p.m. The night will reach a grand finale with a spectacular fireworks display illuminating the Philly skyline just before midnight.

While Christina Aguilera has yet to drop any new singles in 2026, she recently hinted at a wealth of upcoming projects during an April interview with Elle.

“I can promise that there is some thrilling material on the horizon,” Aguilera teased. “I’m collaborating with incredibly talented people, and the process currently feels more creatively liberating and inspiring than ever.”
