Billie Eilish Debuts New Hair Color and Length

Billie Eilish debuted a wavy bob with a pale auburn hue in an Instagram mirror selfie shared on Monday, Oct. 5, prompting some fans to note that she and her brother, Finneas, now share the same hair color.

In the photo, Eilish makes a funny face while sitting in what appears to be a dressing room wearing a simple sweater and khaki trousers. She captioned the post “hi,” which also includes pictures of her dog Shark, a pumpkin patch, and a reflection showing her torso tattoos.

Followers filled the comments section discussing the resemblance to her older sibling and longtime collaborator. “Finally I see the resemblance with Finneas,” one person wrote, while others responded with “LOL SAME” and “omg you just helped me see it.”

Eilish has frequently changed her hair color throughout her career. When she first gained fame in the late 2010s, she wore bright silver hair before transitioning to blue, and later black with neon green roots. During the era of her Billboard 200 No. 1 album Happier Than Ever in 2021, she wore golden blonde hair, and she maintained a dark chocolate brown shade throughout the Hit Me Hard and Soft cycle.

She kept the brunette shade during filming for Sarah Polley’s upcoming adaptation of Sylvia Plath’s The Bell Jar, which wrapped in September. The 10-time Grammy winner stars as main character Esther Greenwood in the project, which marks her major motion picture debut.
