The sequel to the hit film “Cheburashka” has officially crossed the 4 billion ruble mark, cementing its status as the second highest-grossing project in Russian cinematic history, trailing only the original installment. Remarkably, the film reached this record-breaking financial milestone just eight days after its theatrical premiere.
For context, the first “Cheburashka” movie eventually amassed a staggering total of more than 6 billion rubles during its run.
Currently holding the third spot among the most successful Russian domestic films is the comedy “The Serf,” which brought in 3.8 billion rubles.
Industry analysts also note that other major domestic productions, such as “Buratino” and “Prostokvashino,” are maintaining strong momentum and are not far behind the “Cheburashka” franchise’s success.
