Charley Crockett Forced to Cancel Canadian Tour After Being Denied Entry Over 10-Year-Old Drug Conviction

Country sensation Charley Crockett has been forced to scrap his highly anticipated Canadian tour after being denied entry into the country. The “Lonesome Drifter” singer revealed on Monday (Feb. 23) that a decade-old legal issue has resurfaced, preventing him from crossing the border.
In a candid update shared via Instagram, Crockett posted documentation from Canada’s immigration and citizenship department detailing his inadmissibility. The restriction stems from a March 2016 conviction in Virginia involving the possession of over five pounds of marijuana with intent to distribute. “Everyone has a history,” Crockett told his followers. “Mine is still catching up with me.”
The musician detailed a frustrating 24-hour period in which he attempted to clear customs in both Vancouver and Kelowna, only to be turned away by border patrol agents on both occasions. Crockett noted that he was eventually cautioned that further attempts to enter could lead to more severe legal repercussions, leaving him with no choice but to cancel the entire tour leg. “I sincerely apologize to everyone impacted. I feel like I’ve let you all down,” he added.
While full refunds will be issued to ticketholders at their original points of purchase, Crockett acknowledged that the money doesn’t make up for the disappointment. “Canada is a stunning country with incredible fans. I’ve had some of the best moments of my career playing there,” he expressed. “I’m not one to give up easily, and I plan on finding a way back to you all as soon as possible.”
The tour was originally set to launch this past Saturday (Feb. 21) at Vancouver’s Orpheum Theatre. Hours before the scheduled start time, Live Nation British Columbia had announced a postponement citing “unforeseen circumstances.” The cancellation now affects scheduled stops across Alberta, Ontario, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Quebec.
This news follows closely on the heels of Crockett’s announcement regarding his upcoming studio album, Age of the Ram. Slated for release on April 3, the project serves as the final installment of his “Sagebrush Trilogy,” following 2025’s Lonesome Drifter and Dollar a Day.
