Announcements about franchise projects have caused some confusion.

CD Projekt RED recently met with investors to discuss its results for the third quarter of fiscal 2025. During the call, participants asked about the status of new initiatives and whether the Witcher tabletop game should be classified as a gaming project.

CDPR co-CEO Michał Nowakowski said:

[…] I can comment on the “Cyberpunk card game.” I’ve noticed there has been a lot of misunderstanding about this project. To be clear: it is a physical collectible card game (CCG). It is not a video game.

The meeting moderator added:

Regarding whether the [Witcher tabletop game] is one of the unannounced projects we referred to — no. We are not developing that title in-house, we are not capitalizing expenses for it, and we did not cite tabletop games or a major CCG as one of our “unannounced projects.”

Michał Nowakowski also provided an update on the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel:

“As for whether the Cyberpunk 2 team is nearing the end of pre-production or still far from it: we’re pleased with the team’s current progress, but it’s too early to discuss advancing to the next stage. We’ll make an official announcement when the time is right.”
