CD Projekt Is Definitely Working on an Expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Insider
Insider and director Boris Nespelyak, who maintains numerous contacts in Poland’s games industry, has reported that a new expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is in development and could be revealed at The Game Awards.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt isn’t just CD Projekt RED’s most significant success — it’s also one of the best-selling video games of all time. The title elevated the studio to a global audience, earned numerous awards, and set the tone for modern RPGs.
Rumours that CD Projekt RED is working on a new expansion for The Witcher 3 have surfaced before.
On a podcast, Nespelyak spoke about the upcoming Game Awards and said the DLC is currently in development. He emphasised that “it’s definitely happening,” adding that Jeff Keighley’s ceremony would be an ideal moment to unveil the project to the public.
Nespelyak said his information comes “from multiple sources, including the largest one,” but he did not reveal any details about the expansion’s content.
We’ll need to be patient.
CD Projekt RED is currently focused on The Witcher 4. The new Witcher 3 DLC could act as a narrative bridge to the next instalment, potentially featuring Ciri in the leading role.
