Building on the momentum of this week’s Black Ops Royale reveal, Treyarch has unveiled the full scope of the Season 02 Reloaded update. This mid-season refresh promises an extensive suite of additions across competitive Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone, delivering new environments and innovative mechanics to every corner of the game.
Players can look forward to fresh maps, tactical “Nightmare Skills,” and the introduction of Glitch Fractures. The update also brings a host of new weaponry, cosmetic blueprints, and Operator skins available through upcoming weekly challenges and limited-time events.

Warzone: Tactical Perk Overhaul
While the debut of Black Ops Royale takes center stage, the standard Warzone and Resurgence experiences are receiving significant gameplay adjustments. A major Perk refresh is coming to Momentum, Berserker, and Hunter. Momentum now prioritizes fluid close-quarters combat and snappier weapon handling. Berserker rewards aggressive play with a brief movement speed burst following a kill, while Hunter enhances predatory tracking, allowing players to see enemy footprints and sense nearby threats. Additionally, the Ghost perk has been buffed, extending its stealth duration from a mere 1.5 seconds to a full 5 seconds.

Zombies: Escaping the Temporal Loop
The undead saga continues with Paradox Junction, a new round-based map. This mission finds the strike team trapped in a temporal prison by The Warden, forcing players to navigate a time loop to secure their freedom. The map introduces the Rad-Hound, a high-speed adversary capable of triggering devastating radioactive blasts.
To combat these new horrors, the iconic Blundergat returns. This quad-barrel powerhouse can be evolved into the Sundergat, a weapon capable of harvesting souls and firing a concentrated “Exile” beam. Players can also utilize the new Lockshot Scorestreak for rapid multi-target elimination or the Turncoat GobbleGum to briefly press-gang zombies into fighting for the living.

Multiplayer: Nostalgia Meets Innovation
Competitive fans gain two 6v6 maps that pay homage to Black Ops 2 history. Torque offers a remastered look at the “Battle of Los Angeles,” while Cliff Town reimagines the classic “Yemen” layout, now situated within Avalon. For larger scales, Mission: Peak joins the 20v20 Skirmish rotation, while fan-favorites Grind and Firing Range make their return.
Season 02 Reloaded also introduces Gauntlet, a high-stakes mode where teams cycle through five different objectives (including Domination, Hardpoint, and Team Deathmatch) in two-minute intervals. The classic Infected mode also makes its debut in Black Ops 7, accompanied by a new low-cost Smart Gun Scorestreak that automatically tracks multiple hostiles.

Endgame: Glitch Bosses and Exotic Loot
High-level players in the Avalon map can now encounter Glitch Fractures. Defeating a Strike Boss within a Nightmare Zone opens a portal to a specialized arena where players must survive waves of enemies and a formidable Glitch Boss. Victory unlocks Nightmare Skills—passive abilities that trigger fiery explosions during wingsuit deployments or summon localized snowstorms to trap foes.
For those seeking the ultimate loadout, Exotic Fabricators allow players to upgrade their gear to “Exotic” rarity. These upgrades significantly boost damage and add random utility bonuses. While powerful, each Fabricator is a single-use station, requiring players to choose their upgrades wisely to achieve their ideal build.
The Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Season 02 Reloaded update is scheduled to go live on Wednesday, March 11, at 9 a.m. PT across all platforms.
