In her evocative new memoir, Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic, Bunnie Xo delves into the intimate details of her fertility journey alongside husband Jelly Roll. The podcaster discloses that the couple has already selected a surrogate to help them welcome a new addition—or potentially two—to their family.
In a poignant excerpt from the book, which debuted on February 17, the Dumb Blonde host explains that their roadmap for expansion involves In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). After a decade of shared healing and achieving personal and financial stability, the pair feels the timing is finally right to pursue their dream of having twins. “Now that we’ve finally reached a place of stability, both financially and emotionally, we’re looking toward the future,” she writes.
Bunnie expressed profound gratitude for their surrogate, characterizing her as an incredibly selfless woman prepared to carry their children. “With the advancements in IVF and the help of a woman willing to do something so altruistic for us, we are finally able to make our aspirations of parenthood a reality,” she shared.
According to medical experts at the Mayo Clinic, the IVF process typically begins with several weeks of ovarian stimulation to prepare eggs for retrieval. Once fertilized in a laboratory setting, the embryos are transferred to a uterus—which, in this instance, will be that of their surrogate.
Throughout 2025, Bunnie was remarkably transparent regarding the toll the process took on her well-being. She previously confided in her TikTok followers about the “lonely” nature of the experience, noting that the physical and mental demands of IVF treatments had left her feeling utterly exhausted.
The memoir also sees Bunnie addressing the inevitable scrutiny surrounding their decision to become parents later in life. Bunnie, 46, and Jelly Roll, 41—who is already a father to Bailee and Noah—have faced criticism from those who believe they are past the ideal age for child-rearing. Bunnie, however, remains unapologetically defiant, making it clear that public opinion holds no weight in their family planning decisions.
