Kim Taehyung, better known as the charismatic V of BTS, is officially gracing the cover of Vogue Japan. Unveiled just ahead of the festive season, the global icon has been named the publication’s latest cover star, embodying “The New Standard of Cool” as the industry anticipates the arrival of 2026.

In a deeply personal feature, V delves into the enduring camaraderie he shares with his bandmates—RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, and Jung Kook—while offering a rare glimpse into his own self-perception. Expressing profound affection for his “beloved members,” V noted that any destination becomes a source of joy as long as he is accompanied by his brothers.

“I would likely say, ‘I want to return here,’ regardless of where we travel,” he shared with the magazine, according to translated reports. He then added with a laugh, “With the obvious exception of heading to the office for work, of course.”

Turning the lens inward, V offered an introspective take on his personal growth, admitting, “I cannot yet claim to be a person of absolute strength.”

He continued with a sense of purpose: “However, I aspire to be someone resilient who never wavers, ensuring I live up to the hopes of those I cherish. On a fundamental level, I do feel I am in a healthy place, both mentally and physically.”

This thoughtful dialogue arrives at a pivotal moment in V’s career. Following his discharge from South Korean military service in June, he is gearing up for a monumental group comeback in the spring of 2026. BTS is expected to deliver a fresh album and embark on a massive world tour, marking their first full-scale project since their 2020 chart-topper, Be.

Throughout the group’s hiatus, V has remained a prolific solo artist. He recently charmed listeners with a modern reimagining of the timeless classic “White Christmas,” featuring the legendary Bing Crosby. He also joined forces with Park Hyo Shin for the soulful collaboration “Winter Ahead,” further showcasing his versatility. His 2023 debut solo EP, Layover, remains a standout, having peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.
