BTS Announces Exclusive NYC Fan Event and “ARIRANG” Album Celebration

BTS is descending upon the Big Apple to celebrate the launch of their highly anticipated new album, ARIRANG. Spotify revealed on Monday (March 16) that it will host an intimate, invite-only gathering for the ARMY in New York City. The event is set to feature a live performance and a dedicated Q&A session with the group.

The activation, titled “Spotify x BTS: SWIMSIDE,” is scheduled for March 23, arriving just three days after the global debut of ARIRANG. A lucky group of fans will have the opportunity to join RM, Jin, Suga, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook for a series of immersive, album-themed experiences. To maintain the exclusivity of the event, the specific location in Manhattan remains undisclosed.

This milestone arrives as the 14-track project—a body of work years in the making—reaches its final countdown. Following a period focused on solo endeavors and the completion of mandatory military duties, the septet reunited last year to begin crafting this new era. ARIRANG marks their first collective studio effort since the 2020 Billboard 200 leader, Be.

The New York City event is only one facet of the group’s expansive rollout. In collaboration with Spotify, the band is introducing digital engagements including an in-app “Easter egg hunt” where fans can unlock exclusive audio messages from the members. Additionally, a BTS Music Quiz will launch on March 20, allowing the ARMY to test their trivia skills against one another. These digital features follow a mobile clue hunt recently launched by Google.

Beyond the U.S. festivities, BTS is preparing for a massive homecoming. A free celebratory concert is slated for March 21 at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul. This performance serves as a precursor to their ambitious 82-date world tour, which kicks off shortly thereafter.

Speaking on the musical direction of the new record, Suga told GQ in a recent cover story that fans should prepare for an evolution. “We are embracing a wide diversity of genres this time,” he noted. “It’s a significant departure from the previous BTS soundscapes you’ve grown accustomed to. This project reflects a much more mature side of our artistry.”
