Bryan Adams has officially achieved a major milestone, earning his second entry into YouTube’s exclusive Billion Views Club with the timeless classic, “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You.”
The iconic Canadian artist surpassed the ten-figure threshold with the official performance video of his 1991 power ballad, which famously served as the emotional centerpiece for the Kevin Costner film Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.
Upon its debut, the track became an absolute cultural phenomenon. It secured the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for an impressive seven-week run, marking Adams’ most enduring success on the U.S. singles chart to date.
The song’s international impact was arguably even more profound. In the United Kingdom, it enjoyed a historic, unbroken 16-week reign at No. 1 on the Official Singles Chart—a record-setting achievement that remains unsurpassed in the history of the Official Charts Company.
As the lead single from his celebrated album Waking Up the Neighbours, the track helped propel the record to the summit of the U.K. and Australian album charts, while reaching No. 6 on the Billboard 200.
While Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves proved to be a massive box-office triumph, grossing $390 million, it finished second that year behind the sci-fi juggernaut Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Nevertheless, Adams’ ballad cemented its own legacy, far outshining other cinematic adaptations released during that same era.
This achievement follows Adams’ first induction into the Billion Views Club for his 1993 hit, “Please Forgive Me.”
Co-written by Adams alongside Robert “Mutt” Lange and Michael Kamen, “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You” was immortalized in a classic black-and-white music video, directed by Andy Morahan and filmed in Miami in 1992. You can revisit the iconic video below.
