Chris Van Dusen, the showrunner behind Bridgerton, has been appointed the lead writer for Netflix’s upcoming series “Calabas.” The role was previously linked to I. Marlene King, known for Pretty Little Liars. Van Dusen is expected to contribute as both principal writer and a producer on the project.
“Calabas” is adapted from Vee Bledner’s novel If You Lived Here, You’d Already Be Famous.
The story follows a 16‑year‑old girl who moves from the Midwest to an exclusive California neighborhood, a change that dramatically reshapes her life.
Emma Roberts and Kim Kardashian are attached to the series as executive producers.
