Bon Jovi Back on the Road After Jon Bon Jovi’s Vocal Cord Surgery

Bon Jovi Announces Return to the Road, Kicking Off July 7

After more than four years away from touring and amid lingering questions about their ability to resume live dates, Bon Jovi will return to the stage beginning July 7. The initial itinerary is a brief seven-show run that includes three stops overseas.

The band’s comeback follows a prolonged period of uncertainty after frontman Jon Bon Jovi faced serious vocal cord problems. Following the conclusion of the band’s 2022 tour, he underwent reconstructive surgery and then spent an extended period in rehabilitation to restore his singing voice.

“There is a lot of joy in this announcement — joy that we can share these nights together with our amazing fans and joy that the band can be together,” Jon Bon Jovi said in a statement. “I am lucky enough to be able to hold a light out to the audience each night and stand in their reflection for a tremendous collective experience — I get to stand in the WE of our concerts.”

He added that he’s profoundly grateful for the patience shown by fans and bandmates while he healed. “I’m deeply grateful that the fans and the brotherhood of this band have been patient and allowed me the time needed to get healthy and prepare for touring. I’m ready and excited!” he said.

The Live Nation itinerary opens with four nights at New York’s Madison Square Garden, then moves on to Edinburgh, Dublin and concludes at London’s Wembley Stadium. Presales begin on Oct. 27, 2025, and the general public on-sale is scheduled for Oct. 31, 2025.

Jon Bon Jovi has been transparent about his recovery. The band reportedly convened monthly rehearsals to assess his readiness, and he has insisted they would not resume touring until he could confidently sustain a 2½-hour performance. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight in 2024, he said, “Nothing else matters until I work on getting better. It’s up to God at this point. I’ve done everything I can do. I won’t fake it … the legacy matters too much.”

The singer’s rehabilitation and its impact on the group were also chronicled in the 2024 Hulu documentary Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story. During the film’s press appearances he described how one of his vocal cords had atrophied and how that imbalance affected his singing until corrective treatment.

There were encouraging signs throughout 2024. In February of that year Jon performed strongly at the MusiCares Person of the Year tribute, delivering spirited renditions of “Legendary” and collaborative performances with Bruce Springsteen.

The band’s reimagined collection, Forever (Legendary Edition), is slated for release on Friday, Oct. 24, 2025. That expanded edition revisits tracks from their 2024 album Forever, recast as duets with artists such as Bruce Springsteen, Lainey Wilson, Jelly Roll, Jason Isbell, Joe Elliott and Robbie Williams.

Explaining the project, Jon said the record emerged from necessity after his surgery and recovery kept him from touring to promote the original album. He called on friends and fellow artists to help rework the songs, producing what he described as a renewed collection with fresh perspective and collaborative spirit.
