Blumhouse Productions has secured the rights to adapt the horror comic Something Is Killing the Children, created by writer James Tynion IV and artist Werther Dell’Edera.
Previously, Netflix declined the project after several attempts to develop it as a series. Blumhouse plans to produce a feature film alongside an adult-oriented animated series.
The comic is set in an alternate reality where an unseen creature is preying on children, and only one person—monster hunter Erica Slaughter—can perceive it. The series by Tynion and Dell’Edera became a sensation, collecting numerous accolades including a Hugo Award and building a sizable international fanbase.
