For those who experienced Billie Eilish’s “Hit Me Hard and Soft” tour, the concert’s opening sequence was an unforgettable surge of adrenaline. Now, the pop icon is inviting fans to relive that electrifying atmosphere by officially releasing the tour’s haunting intro music on all major streaming platforms.
On Friday, April 24, Eilish dropped “Intro (Hit Me Hard and Soft Tour),” a pulse-pounding, cinematic instrumental that served as the grand gateway to her live performances over the past year. Co-crafted by Eilish and her brother and frequent collaborator, Finneas, the composition artfully weaves in motifs from “The Greatest,” a standout track from her critically acclaimed 2024 album.
This release arrives just ahead of her highly anticipated 3D concert film. Co-directed by legendary filmmaker James Cameron and Eilish herself, the documentary captures the raw energy of the tour. Set to hit theaters on May 8, the film promises a mix of immersive performance footage and intimate behind-the-scenes glimpses. Eilish recently told Fandango that watching the film is designed to feel as close to attending the live show as humanly possible.
The nine-time Grammy winner’s extensive tour spanned 106 dates across 2024 and 2025. Eilish first hinted at the concert film’s development during a show in Manchester last summer, telling the crowd, “I’m working on something very, very special with someone named James Cameron, and it’s going to be in 3D.”
Experience the anticipation once more by listening to “Intro (Hit Me Hard and Soft Tour)” below.
