We are thrilled to unveil another progress report on the highly anticipated Benelux Rework for Euro Truck Simulator 2. In this update, we’re spotlighting a collection of reimagined and meticulously crafted rest areas and petrol stations spanning the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg.

As with all our revitalization projects, our mission extends beyond mere visual polish. We are dedicated to aligning these locations with their real-world counterparts, fostering a sense of authenticity, diversity, and deeper immersion for every driver navigating these historic European corridors.
The Netherlands
Renowned for its sophisticated infrastructure and precision-engineered motorway network, the Netherlands has been a major focus of our creative efforts.
Drivers traversing the A8 will encounter a refreshed service station—a compact, high-detail facility that integrates effortlessly into the surrounding urban landscape. Meanwhile, near the coastline, the IJmuiden petrol station serves as a vital pitstop for those hauling cargo to and from North Sea maritime hubs, now featuring contemporary architecture and updated signage.

A standout addition to this region is the ultra-modern “eco-station” on the A28. Reflecting the Dutch commitment to environmental innovation, this location showcases avant-garde design, integrated solar panels, and a striking canopy that provides a futuristic glow after dark.

Rounding out the Dutch updates, the Het Lonnekermeer truck stop on the E30 offers expansive parking for heavy goods vehicles, intricate landscaping, and an inviting atmosphere, making it the premier choice for long-haulers crossing into the eastern provinces.
Belgium
Belgium serves as a cornerstone of European logistics, and we have overhauled several key service hubs to better mirror the bustling reality of its motorway system.
On the E34 connecting Antwerp and Turnhout, the local truck stop has been completely reconstructed. Its spacious new layout is specifically designed to accommodate heavy traffic flows, featuring realistic parking configurations and optimized access roads.

Closer to the city of Liège, the newly revamped petrol station adopts a more metropolitan aesthetic, with enhanced textures and localized signage that capture the unique regional character. Near the German border, the E40 Lichtenbusch crossing has received a significant overhaul. This area seamlessly merges essential motorway services with the distinct atmosphere of an international border, providing a rich layer of immersion for trans-European journeys.

In Wallonia, we are introducing several “Aire” style rest stops. Locations like Aire de Verlaine and Aire de Saint-Ghislain feature expanded truck bays, specialized architectural motifs, and curated greenery to replicate the authentic feel of Belgian roadside stops.

Finally, the Wanlin petrol station offers a scenic respite in the heart of the Ardennes. Though smaller in scale, this stop is packed with character and serves as a perfect break point within the region’s lush, hilly terrain.
Luxembourg
Despite its modest size, Luxembourg remains a vital artery for international freight. Along the E421, drivers will encounter a fully modernized service point. This clean, efficient station reflects the country’s premium infrastructure and its strategic role as a central European crossroads.

Across all three nations, our map, asset, and vegetation teams have worked in unison to ensure that every petrol station and resting point feels distinct. Whether you are refueling your rig, completing a mandatory rest period, or simply admiring the sunset, these service areas are designed to be a memorable part of your journey.
