For the members of the dubstep trio Levity—John Hauldren, PJ Carberry, and Josh Tarum—the journey to the main stage wasn’t fueled by overnight success. A new mini-documentary offers an intimate look at their transition from balancing regular shifts at Verizon, Carvana, and a local burger joint to commanding the desert stage at Coachella 2026.
The realization of their lifelong ambition came in a sudden phone call. “I remember seeing our agent’s name pop up on my screen,” Hauldren recalls in the film. “When he told us we’d been offered a slot at Coachella, I just broke down in tears. It was the moment we had been dreaming of our entire lives.”
Stepping into the spotlight at the Sahara Stage on a prime Friday evening brought significant pressure. The stakes were uniquely high for the group; the documentary captures Tarum balancing the intense demands of medical school studies while preparing for the biggest performance of the trio’s career.
This candid feature is the latest installment in Coachella’s Arrival series, a project produced by MGX Creative in collaboration with Marriott Bonvoy that profiles rising stars, including Holly Humberstone, KATSEYE, and Gigi Perez, during their festival debuts.
“Coachella introduced our project to a wider audience than we’d ever reached before,” the trio shared in a statement to Billboard. “It was incredible to see people who had never experienced dubstep begin their journey with this genre. It gave us a sense of legitimacy within the broader music industry. While dubstep can sometimes be unfairly dismissed as ‘niche’ or ‘unconventional,’ this opportunity allowed us to open doors, initiate new collaborations, and demonstrate that this sound deserves the same respect and artistic integrity as any other genre.”
With their Coachella milestone behind them, the trio is showing no signs of slowing down, with upcoming appearances scheduled for Electric Forest, Breakaway Minnesota, and North Coast, alongside a co-headlining amphitheater tour with Tape B.
