Batman: Arkham Origins Director Developing Assassin’s Creed Hexe – Rumor

Benoit Richer, a seasoned industry figure renowned for his directorial work on Batman: Arkham Origins, is spearheading the development of Assassin’s Creed Hexe. His leadership role, corroborated by his professional profile, suggests the upcoming title will distinguish itself through a somber aesthetic and a unique historical setting steeped in mysticism and folklore.

Ubisoft officially unveiled Hexe in 2022, positioning it as the next major flagship title to follow Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Richer’s extensive history with Ubisoft dates back to 2007, spanning projects like Rainbow Six Vegas 2. After a successful tenure at WB Games Montreal, he returned to the company in 2017, where he played a pivotal role in the production of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

The game’s narrative is being guided by Darby McDevitt, a veteran storyteller of the franchise, which points toward a heavy emphasis on plot depth. Industry rumors suggest that Hexe may pivot away from the sprawling RPG mechanics of recent entries, opting instead for a more condensed, atmospheric, and high-stakes gameplay experience.

While a definitive launch window has yet to be confirmed, the project is anticipated to arrive within the next two years. Assassin’s Creed Hexe is shaping up to be one of the most unconventional and daring chapters in the history of the series.
