It appears the chances of this acclaimed title ever landing on a Nintendo console have effectively vanished.
Larian Studios recently addressed a series of fan inquiries regarding the future of the Divinity franchise. However, many players remained focused on the prospects of Baldur’s Gate 3.
One community member specifically inquired about the possibility of a Baldur’s Gate 3 port for Nintendo hardware. Larian CEO Swen Vincke personally responded to the query:
“We would be more than happy to [port BG3], but the ultimate decision does not rest with us.”
Industry insider NateTheHate2 commented on Vincke’s statement, suggesting that the professional relationship between Larian and the IP owners has significantly deteriorated, though he avoided specific details:
“It is a harsh reality. While Larian would jump at the opportunity to bring Baldur’s Gate 3 to the Switch 2, their rapport with Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast is far from healthy. I heard whispers late last year that a Switch 2 release was off the table; I was simply waiting for more evidence to corroborate it.”
