Reinforcements finally arrived, though they weren’t exactly the kind of allies the player was expecting.
Voice chat is a core feature for many in Arc Raiders, but intense communication can sometimes lead to startling real-world misunderstandings. Occasionally, bystanders mistake frantic in-game pleas for help as signs of a genuine emergency unfolding in reality.
A player using the handle “dreamthorp” shared a harrowing experience where his desperate shouts during a raid were so loud they prompted his neighbor to rush over and attempt to kick his door down:
“My heart nearly jumped out of my chest when I saw the door buckle, looking as if an explosion had just gone off behind it.”
In a follow-up, dreamthorp explained that he smoothed things over by offering his neighbor a gesture of peace and gratitude:
“I bought the guy some beer. He was half-dressed at the time, so he asked me not to take a picture of him—only his boots are in the frame. He mentioned he’s a firefighter, so he was essentially acting on muscle memory.”
