Antony Starr, the standout lead of The Boys, has finally weighed in on the persistent rumors linking him to Zach Cregger’s upcoming Resident Evil adaptation. For some time, speculation has been swirling online that Starr is the top choice to portray the franchise’s iconic antagonist, Albert Wesker. However, the actor has moved to distance himself from these reports.
In a recent interview, Starr clarified that he has no connection to the project. He even admitted that he has never played the original video game series. Furthermore, the one physical trait that most closely linked him to Wesker—his signature blonde hair—is already gone. The actor revealed he changed his look immediately after wrapping production on the latest season of The Boys, where he plays Homelander.
Starr also pointed out that the theory regarding his involvement seemed to materialize out of thin air, suggesting it was likely a product of pure fan imagination.
