Alpha Nomos launches on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series with instrument-based rhythm combat
RibCage Games released Alpha Nomos on October 12 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The rhythm-action roguelite follows Cello through a ruined world inhabited by hostile puppets.
Weapons are musical instruments, including the paired xylophone swords called Xyloblades. According to the studio, their sounds were recorded by musicians. Attacks register when the player presses the button rather than being automatically moved onto the beat, so timing affects how combat unfolds.
Reverb, Flanger and Delay powerups change Cello’s attacks and the sound of a run. Between attempts, Maestro’s shop offers additional moves. A timing offset setting lets players adjust the rhythm to their setup.
The launch also brings a new trailer showing combat and the game’s corrupted circus. The studio lists a US price of $17.99 and a 10% introductory discount on Steam for the first seven days.
