Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 Delayed — Studio to Receive Additional Funding

Fans of the Alien universe will have to wait a bit longer. Publisher Enad Global 7 has announced that Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 from Cold Iron Studios is now scheduled for release in the third quarter of 2026.

This isn’t just a postponement — the project has secured additional funding. Enad Global 7 will invest $6.5 million, and the developers will contribute another $1.2 million of their own capital to elevate the game’s quality and meet player expectations.

The original title, released in 2021, was a cooperative third‑person shooter set in the Alien universe. Despite an intriguing concept, it received mixed reviews, with critics pointing to repetitive gameplay and untapped franchise potential.

The sequel is intended to address those shortcomings. Leaks from July 2024 suggest the game will include five character archetypes — Swift, Deadly, Silent, Commander, and Ranger — each with distinct abilities and weapon loadouts. A new Annihilation mode, inspired by classic Horde-style gameplay but offering greater variety, is also said to be in development.

The larger budget and extended development window offer reason to hope that Cold Iron Studios will finally deliver the game fans have been anticipating for years.
